A day in your life as a Private Banking Relationship Credit Support Officer
Under the direction of the the Private Bank (PB) Senior Lending Officer (SLO), the Private Banking Relationship Credit Support Officer (RCSO) identifies and evaluates credit risks associated with clients to enable a credit decision to be made, coordinates requests for credit assistance, performs analysis of credits, supports structuring of sound credit facilities and is responsible for monitoring of segments of the portfolio.  Assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.
In addition, this position is responsible for demonstrating the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) philosophy by participating in and practicing ESS disciplines and behaviors.

 

We’ll give you these important responsibilities…

  • Coordinates effectively with Primary Relationship Officers (PROs), Commercial Credit Underwriting & Analysis (CCUA) and Documentation and Booking Services to expedite turnaround on credit requests. Processes loan packages efficiently including review for completeness and accuracy.  Communicates missing items, discrepancies and gaps in the process clearly with all stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely end-to-end performance. 
  • Supports PROs’ efforts to develop a more comprehensive understanding of client’s financial condition/strategy and financing need in order to deal screen productively with SLO, CCUA and Wholesale Credit.  Prepares term sheets and approval letters in a timely manner.  Participates in staff meetings and joint calls with PROs as appropriate. 
  • Performs financial analysis and cash-flow projections and written requests for credits in accordance with current Bank standards and guidelines and provides analytics to support pricing rationale. 
  • Reinforces the Credit Culture vision of the Bank.  Works under the direction of Private Banking Administration staff, CCUA and Wholesale to structure sound credit facilities and promote excellence in evaluation and communication of credit risk in accordance with Federal, State, Bank and Department’s safety and soundness and compliance guidelines.
  • Reviews daily overdraft report and recommends or facilitates approval for the appropriate disposition of the overdraft. Prepares and distributes a weekly summary of follow-up resolutions needed to enhance management oversight.  
  • Conducts periodic monitoring of segments of the portfolio such as credit facilities collateralized by marketable securities and validates the data integrity of new loan bookings.  Manages the process for resolution and ensures timely distribution of the reports.
  • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 Education:

  • College degree from an accredited education institution with basic understanding of business and economic subjects. 
     

Experience: 

  • Minimum 1-2 years of commercial or private banking credit experience 

 

Technical Skills: 

  • Analytical skills and an understanding of credit, cash flow analysis. 
  • Proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office Professional software.
  • Basic analytical skills, understanding of credit and proficiency in software. 
  • Performs assigned job functions under maximum supervision from PB Administration senior officers.

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and influence skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Work effectively with internal and external partners.
