A day in your life as a Service Supervisor provides quality service assisting clients in various banking transactions. Assists with the daily branch operational needs. Responsible to sell and/or refer various Bank of Hawaii financial services to all clients. Provides assistance, training and guidance to Tellers within unit. In addition, this position is responsible for demonstrating the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) philosophy by participating in and practicing ESS disciplines and behaviors. 

We’ll give you these important responsibilities…

Assists clients and/or Tellers with more complex servicing requests and inquiries by using knowledge of Bank of Hawaii’s products and services. Provides quality service by interacting directly with clients. Processes a wide range of financial transactions. Provides direction and assistance to clients in utilizing various channels for transactions such as: ATM’s Call Center, E-Bankoh, Night Deposit for business clients, Bank by Mail, and Foreign Currency Exchange machines. Assists in business unit’s compliance with all regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including those related to Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act, as applicable.


Oversees day-to-day Teller activities. Provides guidance and training to Tellers to ensure servicing and transaction efficiency levels meet goals and objectives. Assists with the supervision of tellers, including staffing and scheduling, compensation, performance management, training and development. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.


Assists the Service Manager in gathering, preparing and/or monitoring reports. Responsible for keeping informed of current bank policies, procedures, federal laws and regulations as well as current and new products and sales promotions.


Opens and closes accounts. May assist in opening/closing of the vault, must be able to push a cash cart (100 lb.) and or lift approximately 20 to 25 lb. May be required to open as a teller and able to use cash dispensing units. May be required to stand for extended periods of time. Performs duties as needed of Automated Teller Machine (ATM), Vault, or Night Depository custodian, and armored car transactions. Buys/Sells currency/coin from vault and tellers.


Possess strong knowledge of Products/Services to actively participate in Sales/Referral programs. Identifies clients’ needs. Provides verbal and printed information and explains the features and benefits of the appropriate product.


Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned. This position requires use of a personal computer, PC Teller, Customer Information System (CIS), check imprinter and other standard office equipment (typewriter, fax, copier, calculator, telephone, etc.).

High school diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent work experience.


Minimum two years teller experience, two years branch operations experience and one year supervisory experience.


Must be able to push a cash cart (100 lb.) and or lift approximately 20 to 25 lb.


May be required to stand for extended periods of time.


Demonstrated verbal communication, sales, marketing and service skills which meet Bank of Hawaii’s established standards.
